Assassin's Tango
Taken at the semiannual Fred Astaire showcase, held this time at the Mesa Arts Center, a frequent venue for this event. John Holzworth is the male dancer shown here. I cannot identify his partner, even though I have the program in front of me as I post this, because they were performing to the "Assassin's Tango" from the motion picture "Mr. and Mrs. Smith," but the music is not identified as such in the program. I will leave it to John or someone else from the studio to fill in the informational gap.
I filled an entire memory card during this shoot, a total of 828 images on one 8GB card. I deleted one before the showcase ended, and could have replaced it by snapping one more image, but by then the show had ended and time had run out. This marked the end of an unusually long five-month dry spell during which I took no dance photos at all. But I should be busy for awhile as I process all of these exposures, and in the meantime, it sure felt nice to be doing dance photography once again.
