History
The name of the lighthouse comes from a pyramid of stones, used in alignment with a rock in the shape of a rooster 1 , which served to signal the mouth of the Odet.
theDecember 15, 1848, the first lighthouse of the Pyramid is completed and lit . It is a turret which then measures 9 m high and occupies the circular space located at the end of the first alley leading to the current fire.
In 1887, an improvement of the markings at the entrance to the Odet with alignment was decided under the direction of the chief engineer Louis Plantier. The Combrit lighthouse was built, and the Pyramide lighthouse was moved and raised to 38 meters in order to serve two alignments at the same time . It is made of Breton leucogranite , an easily shaped rock. It is completed and lit onMay 15, 1887 .
theAugust 10, 1944, the lighthouse was decapitated halfway up by the Germans. It will be rebuilt identically and relighted in 1950, with a concealment light every 12 seconds
