Kalitta Air is an American cargo airline founded in 1967 that operates international scheduled and ad-hoc cargo charter services. Its main base is Willow Run Airport near Ypsilanti. During the years, the American International Airways name was also used to operate charter and scheduled passenger services.

N727CK (Boeing 727-22C c/n 19195 l/n 406) was delivered in May 1967 to United Airlines as N7420U. in February 1979 it was sold to Air Canada as C-GAGZ and in Novembre 1987 sold again to Interstate Airlines as N727PL. In July 1982 it was sold to leasing company ATSC but it remained on lease to Interstate Airlines until November 1986 when it was leased to Kalitta as N727CK. In March 1991 the company was renamed American International Airways. In September 1997 the plane went to Kitty Hawk Aircargo and re-registered N792A in August 2000. In November 2000 the plane was transferred to Express net Airlines and in March 2005 to Northern Air Cargo. In May 2007 the plane was acquired by Westcan International Airlines as C-GHWC. In June 2009 it was sold to Professional Maintenance Service as N56TR to be sold immediately in July 2009 in Congo to Gomair as 9Q-CGB.
