Fastener Corp. Trigger Action Stapler CS-20
This 7½-inch long "Trigger Action Stapler" was made by Fastener Corp., Chicago, a predecessor to Duo-Fast. The unit provides a consistent stapling action because pushing down on the lever causes the stapling, and thus it doesn't depend upon how much force was used to push down the lever. The force needed to trip the lever mechanism is adjustable using the knurled nut near the rear of the stapler. The stapler has a decal that indicates that patents have been applied for, which likely dates the unit to 1936–39. It also appears to have a serial number: 301056. A long-time employee of Duo-Fast did some research for me in the company's archives and only was able to find a schematic for the stapler, which indicated it likely is a model CS-20. Made in U.S.A.
