Tin Man Balloon Hand Launch

Stephen Wender (Los Alamos National Laboratory) and Kolby Patton (GSSL, Inc.) examine the crate holding the scientific balloon for TinMan (Thermal Neutron Measurement Experiment) on August 21, 2024, in Fort Sumner, New Mexico. The balloon will expand to 1 million cubic feet (28,300 cubic meters) when it reaches its maximum altitude of about 120,000 feet.
