Changeling (Little Blue Heron)

A juvenile Little Blue Heron shows off its partial new wardrobe on Horsepen Bayou. Through most of their first year these birds closely resemble Snowy Egrets except for beak and feet and it is only in their second spring and summer that they start transitioning into their dark blue mature plumage.
