Jump Start (White Pelican)
A lot of smaller birds flap their wings in flight at almost the exact rate as the 12 frames per second of my camera in burst mode making the wings appear stationary in shot after shot. Large birds like this American White Pelican, with their much slower strokes, provide as many different wing configurations as the length of the burst, making it much more difficult to pick a favorite position. Especially during a long, running takeoff from Horsepen Bayou.
