Treehouse

A Tree Swallow completes a food delivery to its hatchlings in a nest box on Mud Lake. The last time I saw a swallow attending to hatchlings ended in misfortune before my eyes as a rat snake raided their nest in a hollow tree along the bank and took all the babies. This nest box sits far from shore so is a much less likely target, at least for snakes and such. I hope to see this brood fledge and add to the small year-round population here.
