Whitewater Wader

Quite different from the flatwater waders I normally encounter, an American Dipper plies the rushing water of the North Fork Big Thompson River on the Dunraven Trail near Glen Haven, Colorado. This little fellow was constantly on the move in low light on the first morning of my recent Rocky Mountains trip. I spent a lot of time hiking along pristine whitewater streams but never saw another during the course of my travels.
