Spring Cleaning
Brown Pelicans were thick on this warm late-winter afternoon and two of the birds were demonstrating a behavior I have not seen from them before. They beat their wings against the water repeatedly, creating some impressive water plumes before briefly dipping under the surface and shaking out the excess.
Then they towel-dried and sprinkled baby powder beneath their wings. On Horsepen Bayou.
