FINALLY!
First of all, I FINALLY published Avery's "homecoming anniversary update" to catch up all of our friends and family. Of course, so much has happened since July 23rd, so I already need to create another update with the latest! For now, ... here's the new page ...
Avery's homecoming anniversary
Secondly, look at that face! FINALLY, no cannula! The pulmonologist gave us the OK to pull Avery's oxygen during the daytime. We are instructed to still give him 1/4 liter of O2 at night and monitor him for the next 7-10 days. If he tolerates everything with no problem, we can take him off O2 altogether at that point.
After having Avery tethered to something for his entire life, it is so strange not to get snagged on things while walking around the house with him. I carried him with me out to get the mail this afternoon, just because I could. And of course, seeing Avery's entire face is a special treat. This is going to take a while to get used to, for us and for him.
Let's hope the next week goes well and we can truly say a FINAL goodbye to the supplemental oxygen. Of course, we'll be keeping a couple of tanks around just in case a cold or something sneaks its way in at any point this fall/winter season.
