Rost Anleitung - Rust, A Manual
A short manual how to create "rust" form an iron(II)sulfate solution by precipitating iron(II)hydroxide and its oxidation to synthetic rust [FeO(OH)*nH2O]. It is useful to give sufaces a yellowish brown rusty look. In the next step you can apply iron metal dust with acrylic binder and an oxidator. This will be the subject of another video.
Sorry, but the video is very short, but it will be sufficent to give some hints. But my advise: BE CAREFUL WITH CHEMICALS!
Iron(II)sulfate:
A bit noxious, but not very dangerous.
Ammonia 25%:
Corrosive, noxious, poisonous fumes, caustic; do not inhalate!
hydrogen peroxide 3%:
Harmful if swallowed, corrosive, oxidatior, not really dangerous, if you are careful.
The product rust is not dangerous, the ammoniasulfate formed as a byproduct is also not dangerous.
