Tug Kevern

Kevern is a pusher/tug built in Japan in 2006. Its former name was Azuma Maru which was changed to Levern in 2007, she is currently registered under the British flag.

Levern was allocated to the Tyne for a short time because of the volume of traffic and a shortage of tugs on the river.

She is seen here proceeding to the mouth of the river for its next turn of duty.
