I really liked the perspective in this shot. Such an ordinary object as a street lamp, but shot in an unusual way. Very Interesting. I first used the Distort Function to make the railing perfectly level. I pulled down a guideline for help. Once I had it level, I scaled it slightly so the center of the lamp was the center of the image...and then used the distort funtion again to adjust the perspective from this slight scaling, by pulling horizontally on the bottom left corner.

I used the move tool to slide the image down some in the frame. I had the railing hit the the bottom third of the frame, and the lamp was now centered in the top two-thirds. This helps follow the "rule of thirds". Once I had this set I used the Rectangular Marquee Tool and selected the image from the center line and all the way to the right. I copied this to a new layer and flipped it horizontally.....sliding it to the left too, so it became the second half of the image.

I created a new layer under the top two. I filled this layer with blue matched to the top portion of the sky. I used the eyedropper tool to choose the blue. There was a visible horizontal line where these met. I used the airbrush eraser with a brush of 100 pixels, and a pressure of 50%. I erased the visible line, and this allowed the blue from below to come through. Making the blending seamless.

I had a few guidelines on my image for the center, the lamp center, the railing, etc. I used the center guide line to drag out an ellipse using the Elliptical Marquee tool. I had a feather of 2 pixels, and selected the lamp head. I contrasted this some...then I used the Lighting Effects function and spotlit the image. I used the elliptical marquee tool again, this time with a feather of 122 pixels, and used the selection to add a lensflare to the light....which creates a little more glow.

Thank you summergreens05, for letting me work on your wonderful photo.
