the secret world of plants
There was a hipe for Meyer Trioplan lenses, cause of the soap bubbles which interrested me. But the Meyer lenses was to expensive. The Colorpan has a similar lens construction and I have one on my slide projector. I used an old defect Lens without glasses as an adapter to mount the Colorpan on the D800.
My adapter has no focus scroll and no aperture (full open), sounds like a pinhole camera. I can move the lens in the adapter to preset the focus distance, macro factor and DOF. I do the fine fucusing with moving the camera distance to the subject. Freehand work is practically.
For taking thise soap bublles you need a scene with backlight or direct reflections on objects. In this picture I had direct light reflections in the dew drops.
