Esther Furnace Covered Bridge
The Esther Furnace Covered Bridge was built in 1881 by C.W. Eves at a cost of $1,044.75. The bridge is named after the nearby Esther Furnace which was built in 1817 to smelt iron. The structure is 109 feet long and has a Queenpost Truss design. The bridge spans a branch of Roaring Creek In Cleveland Township just south of Catawissa Borough in Columbia County, Pennsylvania. The bridge is near the Lake Glory Campground and has a small spot for one or two cars to pull off the road on the northwest end of the bridge.
