Little Bronze-Cuckoo

It's exciting to see and photograph species of birds while on a trip that you don't normally see at home. I had to dive into my Field Guide to find out what Cuckoo this little beauty was after photographing it. This one is a male. The female lays a single egg in the nest of Gerygones. Once it is hatched it pushes the eggs or the young Gerygones out of the nest and is reared by the unsuspecting surrogate parents.
