Tensione

 

 

C’è inquietudine

in me

non la vedo in occhi altrui;

una tensione al dovere

- e all’amore -

a lacerare l’animo.

 

L’onore del fare

e la necessità di ascoltare,

fuggo presto al mattino

ma mi ritiro

quando si fa sera.

 

Fantasia di librarmi

in qualche altro cielo

non qui

non ora;

ho scelto ali di pietra

per consumare questi miei giorni.

There is concern

in me

I do not see in others' eyes;

a tension to duty

- and love -

to tear the soul.

 

The honor of doing

and the need to listen,

I fly early in the morning

but I retire

when it is evening.

 

Imagination to soar

in some other sky

not here

not now;

I've chosen stoned wings

to consume these my days.
