Gravity Bun
Robin's Portrait #1
My friend Robin asked me if I knew anyone who could do a head shot for her. I said I could, or at least I was willing to learn. I used my Canon Rebel Xt with a 50mm f/1.8, 2 Canon 550 flashes, a muslin background set lit by a lamp normally used for heating one of our pet cages, one reflector held by Robin, and a huge number of shots.
I think that by the end of the day I was able to get a number of good pictures for her. Here are two of them.
I was trying to recreate a shot I'd seen of the MuchMusic Veejay Amanda Walsh. I should have gone for a smaller aperture.
I'm hoping in the next week or two to make my second attempt at portrait photography with a different friend and better equipment.
