Thunder God (Raijin) is a wooden sculpture with traces of gesso and red and black pigment of a running thunder god. It originates from Japan. The fierce figure is dated to the 1300s during the Kamakura period. Its overall size is 24 ¼ in, a moderate scale. The sculpture is housed at the Cleveland Museum of Art under the accession number 1972.64. It was purchased from the J.H. Wade Fund.
