Magellanic Tapaculo Churrin Andino Scytalopus magellanicus

This is a tiny and very elusive Tapuculo of upland tangles often by streams. We saw this due to the perseverance of Marcelo. It was found by checking carefully though the tangled vegetation in an upland stream as it passed through dense Nothofagus forest. This bird kept very low to the ground and only occasionally showed in gaps between the dead branches.
