Sri Lanka Blue Magpie, Urocissa ornate, Endemic, Sinharaja Mid-level Rainforest Reserve, SW Sri Lanka

This delightful and often secretive Endemic species is only found in the dense evergreen hill forests of SW Sri Lanka. This one was seen in the Sinharaja mid-level Rain Forest Reserve on the 10th November 2016. Unusually for this species it spent nearly a minute sitting out in the open in the early morning sunshine.
