Had hoped to make the ESCC photo outing on Friday night but it looks like we had other plans for family stuff. Fortunately I made it to the Baldwin County Fair today and had a great time with Joe, aka Brodyj of Flickr Fame. :)

 

First time I ever shot a fair. (umm. with a camera..)

 

A couple things stood out to me on this trip. One, I know why I was never really popular in high school. Because I'm the type of person that has no problem bringing a tripod and camera into a fair.

Lots to write about but not tonight. I'll just leave you with this really surreal moment when I was exiting the gates. A table is set up with a Christian organization passing out little NKJ Bibles (sized like those Gideon bibles they have in hotel rooms, made for people with great eyesight.)

 

The folks at the table were dressed about as conservative as you would imagine. (I didn't take note of their affiliation, I'm not a denomination snob (a brother is a brother, a sister is a sister).

Behind them, pounding on a loudspeaker, ....
