Castle Construction

In 2009, Disney Resorts announced that they would be undertaking a major expansion at the Magic Kingdom, estimated at $1 billion dollars or more. When we were there in 2009 they were about to begin excavating the old 20,000 leagues under the sea ride. The addition includes a second castle (The Beast's Castle), a new dumbo ride with a circus area (concern here), a Little Mermaid ride and a "dwarves" mine ride.

The castle and mine ride can be seen here under construction.

I snapped this photo from the Dumbo ride. Thought ghosting the castle would fit the style of "coming soon.."

Incidentally, Disney World, build in 1971, cost ~ $300million for the land, original park, construction, Polynesian, Contemporary and 1st monorail loop.

Based on 2011 dollars, that would have been 1.6billion for the initial build. (by the consumer price index)
