I think this is the reason I am obsessed with rock 'n' roll shoes. I have had these shoes since 1992. It's the first pair of Chucks I ever owned, the pair of Chucks I learned how to play drums in, the Chucks that introduced me to punk rock, sticky basement floors and the concept of anarchy. These shoes have been in sewers and schools, been resurrected dozens of times with miles of duct tape and have been with me through five states, seven jobs, a couple of long term girls and a few short-term fights. I refused to throw them away for almost two decades now. I finally gave in the other day. It's time for some new shoes. Maybe I'll get them in China. I hope I get them in China. And I hope they last this long.
