341: Ice King
Friday I went to St. Paul for an evening downtown with Beth. While walking towards the outdoor ice rink, we unexpectedly came across a collection of ice sculptures in Rice Park that were being worked on for the Winter Carnival. I don't know that I've ever seen this kind of artwork up close before, and it was really quite incredible. Who knew that a chainsaw could create such beauty? Anyway, This throne was pretty kickass. Following the ice gazing, I went ice skating for the first time in what has to be at least a dozen years. Incredibly, I never fell on my ass, though it looked kind of fun after watching a bunch of little kids wipe out. Topped off with a daring sushi dinner and an impromptu social experiment at a campus bar, it was a great night.
