338: Change Has Come
At long last, after months of sacrifice and hard work, after countless ups and downs, after a decade of turmoil and distrust, the day has come. Today, Barack Obama, a man who has come to prove that the American Story does not belong to one skin color or one class or one region, has become our new President of the United States of America. It is an honor to say that I worked to help elect him and a privilege to live in this country at the moment it became possible. Do I believe that everything wrong in this country will suddenly get better? Of course not. However, I do believe that the energy surrounding today from all corners of the nation is a sign that we may finally, as one people, have the attitude and the optimism necessary to start changing our direction towards a better path. It will of course take time, but it should be a wonderful process to partake in and I look forward to doing my part.
