89: Grumpy Old Men
These fellows sitting next to me are two of my closest friends from college. We all lived together in the dorms freshman year. Dave, the one in the middle, was my roommate sophomore year. I was on the same dorm staff as Jon, the fellow at the far right, during my junior year. We have spent a lot of time around each other over the years and have wonderful discussions about sports, politics, pop culture etc...
It will be sad to break up as we all go off to our respective new jobs which will likely all be in different locations. However, as the title infers, we could very well end up being those old guys who play chess in the park and talk about the Good Ole Days while scoffing at the youth of the nation and their damn music.
Funny story about this shot. We were outside a building where Jon was having a reception for the seniors in the American Studies Department. They provided finger food and wine. Jon took a glass of wine outside with him to sit with us on the bench. We started talking about whether or not we had managed to do enough "dumb shit" as college students. Then as we took turns sipping the wine we realized we were actually breaking the law by drinking out on the campus. Good stuff.
