Gopher Topher
27: What I look like through my TV's eyes
I've been looking for an excuse to use that invert feature on Picnik, and after I uploaded the original version of this photo and looked at the title I gave it, I realized this would be as good a time as any.
After writing six solid pages to begin my thesis today, I turned on the Gopher Hockey game. It's their first of a 3-game series against Minnesota State-Mankato, with the winner advancing to the Final Five tournament in St. Paul. It was a ridiculously amazing game, and seeing as how it was scoreless through the first 94 minutes and we lost in double overtime, that says a lot about my increased love for hockey in the last year.
More importantly, in basketball (which I was simultaneously listening to on the radio while watching the hockey game), Minnesota managed to win at the last second with a full-court advancement buzzer-beater to go to the Big Ten semi-finals. They fouled themselves into a deficit in the last 5 seconds of the game and managed to still win. Tubby time indeed!
Man I love being a Gopher!
PS: Bobby Knight (One of the most storied college basketball coaches of all time) was asked tonight on ESPN by a fan email who his best recruit was in his 40 years as a coach.
His answer? His wife.
This from the coach famous for throwing a chair during a game. Guess the guy has a soft side. Who knew?
