Barred-sided Skink portrait

A cool little adult Barred-sided Skink (Concinnia tenuis) from elevated riparian rainforest in the Eungella NP along the Great Dividing Range in central Qld, Australia.

A wonderful symphony of colour, light and bokeh rendering from the classic, German-made Pentacon lens. Image taken on a Canon EOS 5D Mark III DSLR coupled to a vintage M42 Pentacon 30/3.5 lens from the early 1970's and made in the then German Democratic Republic. A 9mm M42 extension tube attached and a third party M42 to EOS adapter incorporated. Image shot @ f.4 and hand-held, with a touch of fill-flash. Apart from RAW conversion and the most basic of editing, image shot as is.

This is the art of portraiture with painterly bokeh rendering using classic vintage lenses at their widest apertures.
