We stopped to 'jump start' this stranded Mercedes some distance out of Aralsk. What you can't see in the picture is the group of five policemen who were in the car, because they jumped out of the way as the picture was taken - they are not allowed to be photographed for some reason. Nor can you see the slight embarrassment I felt at having searched every stowage for the jump leads, before remembering I'd stowed them under my seat!
