Inaugural BNSF RoadRailer - August 2001
BNSF's first RoadRailer train between the Northwest and Southern California nears Klamath Falls, Oregon at Union Pacific’s Wocus siding. It is using trackage rights originally granted to predecessor Great Northern.
The train was started in 1996 by Southern Pacific. After Union Pacific acquired SP later that year, it continued to operate the RoadRailer until BNSF took over in August 2001. After three years of operation by BNSF, this RoadRailer service ended in August 2004.
