This vessel is an example of Peruvian Chimu black ware dated between 900 and 1470. It measures 6 5/16 x 5 9/16 x 7 15/16" in size and is not on view at this time. The handle loops outward from the back, like a mug handle, with the spout positioned along the upper third. This piece was a gift to the Cleveland Museum of Art by Mrs. J. Livingstone Taylor. It is not currently on view and is available in the public domain. Reference No. 1919.633
