North West Air Operations Group (NWAOG) MD902 Explorer helicopter, known by its call sign India 99, sits on its pad alongside one of Greater Manchester Police Road Policing Unit’s Subaru patrol vehicles.
The five forces in the North West: Cheshire Constabulary, Greater Manchester Police, Lancashire Constabulary, Merseyside Police and North Wales Police that make up the North West Air Operations Group have four helicopters between, them which are based at four different locations throughout the North West, providing a service anywhere in the region, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The Road Policing Unit patrols the thousands of miles of Greater Manchester’s roads.
