Operation Challenger - Sale

Arrests were made as part of a crackdown on the supply of Class A drugs in Trafford.

On Friday 9 November 2018, officers executed a warrant at a bar off Chelford Road in Sale.

The co-ordinated action was part of Operation Challenger - GMP’s force-wide targeting of organised crime.

It involved partner working including Trafford Council and a large quantity of suspect cocaine has been recovered.

Two men aged 27 and 28 were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs.

Detective Sergeant Adam Ayling from GMP’s Trafford Division said: “We are committed to systematically rooting out and dismantling groups and individuals that seek to profit from supplying drugs.

“Narcotics ruin lives. Proceeds from the sale of drugs are used to further organised crime which blights communities.

“We now have two people in custody as a result of the hard work of our dedicated officers, together with the support of our partners.

“I want to thank our local communities, as without them working with us and reporting crime, we wouldn’t be able to carry out successful operations such as this.

“This raid demonstrates our commitment to eradicating drugs from our streets.

“I would continue to urge people to report any suspicious activity to police so that we can stop criminals benefitting from organised crime and drugs supply.

“If you know about drugs supply in your community - report it.”

A large quantity of suspected cocaine has been recovered.

Anyone with information on drugs supply should contact police on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
