Recreation Room 1910

This fantastic image of the recreation room at Mill Street Police Station was taken in 1910 and depicts the range of activities available to officers while taking a break from their duties. Some take the opportunity to play billiards, dominoes or draughts, one chooses to lift weights and another reads the Manual of Christian Science.

All are taking a few moments of rest from policing the streets of Manchester.
