306/365: "glodjib project" Reboot
Maybe you've seen glodjib.ch - it's a somewhat standard web site, with a blog and some galleries. I haven't touched it for two years now. But it was part of something bigger - a blogging platform and media hub for photographers.
Not a social media platform, but rather a better and customizable replacement for the myriad personal photographer home pages out there, where photographers can serve a portfolio under their own domain, and use the very same images from that portfolio for delivering content to social media platforms.
I started the project twice now, but as it often is with these things, it never got finished. One of the reasons why I didn't really continue is that Ello has become my home base, but I miss having a blog, and my domains feel neglected.
Today, I made a concept or two for parts of restarting the project. This is one of them. I made a fresh project with the shiny Rails 5 Beta, and you can have a look at it on GitHub. There's not much there yet, but it's a start 😄
Would you be interested in such a thing?
