Stagecoach 40th anniversary - 1/76 scale model shoot.
To mark the 40th anniversary of Stagecoach bus & coach operations, I have staged a photoshoot of all my Stagecoach and related models, including Megabus.
Front View -
Shown here are three models representing three Stagecoach areas of operation and made by three different model makers.
On the left is SP06EGK, a Dennis Trident double decker bus with ALX400 bodywork. It is fleet number 18506 and owned by Stagecoach Strathtay. Strathtay covers the Tayside, Perthshire and Angus areas. The model is UKBUS0017 made by Creative Master Northcord (CMNL). It is shown on service number 57 for Perth Bus Station via Blairgowrie coming from Dundee Seagate Bus Station.
In the middle is UIB3076, a Leyland National, new to British Airways and previously held VRM EGT458T, having been delivered to BA as WGY596S. It passed to Western Scottish shortly before the Stagecoach takeover and is shown here in beachball livery with Stagecoach Western fleet name. It would go on to serve as a non-PSV vehicle with “Wee G” branding, part of a community outreach program. The VRM would subsequently pass to an Alexander Strider used for the same non-PSV purpose. The model is by Exclusive First Editions (EFE). It is shown on service 90 for Mount Stuart and carries front and rear school bus signage.
Finally to the right is P564APM, a Dennis Dart SLF (Super Low Floor). Originally a Stagecoach Cambus model, it has had Cambus fleetnames and legal lettering removed and is working towards a Code 3 representation of a Stagecoach Glasgow model based around 1997 when the company began their second push into the city, after a first attempt 10 years earlier which ended in the sale of their “Magicbus” operation to KCB Network (Kelvin Central Buses). While currently a work in progress Code 3, the base model is a Corgi production.
