Rhizopus sp - hyphae and sporangia

Rhizopus is a common mould, usually one of the first to appear on bread and fruits. Its relatively wide, undivided (cenocytic) hyphae form a white mass resembling cotton wool that rapidly becomes sprinkled with black sporangia.

This is a composite image made from 3 original images that were combined using CombineZ to give the appearance of greater depth of field.
