At this point, the confrontations were dealt with by a hi-vis clad 'conflict resolution team', who would run around asking people not to be violent. Amazingly, it worked, and the violence calmed down really quickly. Another victory for friendly policing!

Disturbingly tho, the conflict resolution folks' logo was the arms of the german police with the slogan "Aha!" Imagine is the english Community Support Officers adopted the motto of "Boo!". They'd be a laughing stock...

A wide variety of leftist protestors converged in Rostock to highlight issues of global inequality as the leaders of the world's most powerful industrial nations gathered to conspire against the rest of the world. As germany still has a strong nazi movement, faces have been pixellated to protect the identities of those involved.
