Great Southern White Butterfly

The Great Southern White (Ascia monuste) butterfly is one of the most common white butterflies in Florida. Especially in winter, this species can be seen on roadsides, medians, disturbed areas, open fields and even in your own backyard.

The Great Southern White Butterfly is one of the most commonly used butterfly for weddings in Florida.

 

I found this one in the vacant lot next door feeding on a Blue Mist Flower.
