Opteka Fisheye Adapter 0.22x
Mini review
This little adapter screws onto your lenses to give a fisheye effect. It cost £38 plus postage from eBay. I was thinking of getting a Peleng for £160 but ended up going for the cheaper option!
This adapter comes with a 52mm thread, so it screws right onto my Nikon kit lens. It also came with a 58mm, 55mm and 67mm adapters plus a thick material bag to store it in.
Its made in Japan, but distributed by Opteka in Brooklyn NYC.
Its made of metal and glass and is surprisingly heavy. Its multicoated and comes with front and back caps.
It has a problem with softness around the edges, but gets a fairly sharp central point of focus, especially when you use a small aperture. Also flare is an issue. Although I have no experience with real fisheye lenses so i'm not sure how it compares.
As it fits onto other lenses, it makes EXIF data fairly redundant.
