London Eye Colours

The London Eye, or the Millennium Wheel, is Europe's tallest cantilevered observation wheel on the South Bank of the River Thames. It was formally opened on 31 December 1999 as a temporary attraction to welcome the new millennium but has now been granted permanent status.

The rim of the Eye is supported by tensioned steel cables and resembles a huge spoked bicycle wheel.

In an effort to attract photographers, the official line is that the London Eye delivers the chance to get breathtaking photos of the city of London. The ride moves so slow which enables one to have ample opportunity to shoot photos and video from all angles.

It is such a shame that a similar courtesy is not extended on the ground where if one dares to set up a tripod, one is quickly escorted off their land by their security. This tripod shot is from the opposite (public) river bank where they cannot stop you.
