16-3203
The former Norfolk & Western's J-class (R) 4-8-4 steam locomotive number 611, now owned by the Virginia Museum of Transportation, is on the grade approaching the summit of the Blue Ridge at Linden, Virginia, on an excursion train between Manassas and Front Royal, on June 4, 2016. As can be seen from the essentially vertical path of the smoke, it's moving at a very slow pace, due to the lengthy passenger train behind it; the smaller white 'cloud' below it is from the whistle, which is being blown for the grade crossing just ahead.
OK, you can't hear the whistle or the exhaust, but you can see this evocative scene every day on your home or office wall; check out: photodecor.net/products/canvas-wraps-3
