Just the Ticket
In the early 1960's I would often read on the bus travelling to work, and used the bus ticket as a book mark. I recently found this ticket inside such a book.
It's a 5d ticket (old pence) equivilant to 2p in today's money. (There were twelve pence to the shilling and twenty shillings to the pound).
So a bus ride from Acregate Lane, down Cemetery Road (the route no longer exists) turn right at Skeffington Road, and left into Ribbleton Lane and then in to town cost two pence for an adult.
