Plane tree of Hippocrates_Kos_(20230614_142027)

According to legend, Hippocrates of Kos used to teach his students the art of medicine under this plane tree, in Kos town, on the Greek island of Kos.

 

The current tree is probably only about 500 years old, but it's possible that it may be a descendant of the original tree which allegedly stood there 2400 years ago, in Hippocrates' time.
