Smallbrook Ringway 1962

Smallbrook Ringway* in April 1962. A brave new world is being created, the old Market Hall is in the process of demolition, a Midland Red D7 passing in front. Over the road a link bridge is being built that will link into the new Bull Ring shopping complex (this bridge survived to link into the current Bull Ring) under construction is the last new Bull Ring centre. An interesting selection of cars is on view including a very new looking Princess R, Austin Cambridge MkI, and an Austin A40 MkI on the road is a late 1940s Rover which has had added to the roof large 'ear' type flashing indicators.

*Smallbrook Ringway didn't become Queensway until the Queen opened the final part of the system.

**This was another transparency rescued from the skip at the University 'clear out' when moving to a new building.
