The car ferry on the Dart (aup,003)

This is the second picture in the series the unknown photographer had taken on their excursion across the River Dart in 1963. He was driving a Bedford Utilabrake and his partner took several pictures from the passenger seat as he drove, they are often camera shaken, largely because of the way they were taken, the slow film speeds of the day and a camera with possibly 1/500th of a second as the fastest shutter speed (and Bedford CA's were not exactly softly sprung!

Because this is a real 'vintage' transport scene I thought it worth scanning even though it is un-sharp.

Most of the cars and the lorry appeared in the traffic jam picture but we seem to have acquired a second Morris E, by this date they were fairly rare.
