Steam on the Lickey (pjs,0096)
The first rays of morning sun catch a Jubilee as it toils up Lickey Bank in 1966.
Unfortunately this slide was very badly heat damaged, it was one of Peter's "show" set of pictures and much use in club slide projectors had wrought havoc.
The slide was welded to the glass mount and it had to be soaked overnight in a bath of washing up liquid to free it. Leaving it glass mounted was not an option as the glass has fogged inside and there was the start of fungal growth. Interestingly the bath soaked off Peters masking as well therefore this is the first time the picture has been seen in its entirety
Peter Shoesmith, mount marked 1966.
