141 Squadron at Kings Norton (pjs,0996)

Making good proress through Kings Nortonis Bullied Battle of Britain class 34079 "141 Squadron" The working has attracted at least 3 other railway photographers and maybe a few more at the far end of the island platform. Peter chose to go wider than would have been normal for the time and include more of the station and running in board, as we would today.

Peter has this as 15th June 1964, I think he may be wrong because on Sunday 14th of June there was a Warwichshire Railway Society tour which ran from Bristol T.M.

The route was Bristol to Birmingham via the Lickey, on to Derby via Lichfield then Crewe via Stoke-on-Trent. The train returned from Crewe via Rugeley and Walsall, Wednesbury (via Princes End Branch) Tipton then Gloucester Eastgate to Bristol T.M. I have taken this information verbatim from the Six Bells website.

34079 was built at Brighton Works and entered traffic in July 1948, it was withdrawn 27/02/1966 and cut at Cashmore's (Newport) July 1966.
